Reaching Your Fall Ambitions and Goals

What is more amazing than a fresh start? The beginning of every new season allows for self reflection and recuperation from the past 3 months. It is also the perfect opportunity to start reaching for your fall ambitions and goals. No matter how big or small, goal setting is vital to achieve personal growth, mental prosperity, and overall joy.

You may be asking yourself “how do you create realistic goals?” It may seem like an easy concept, but many struggle to set and achieve their personal aspirations.

Creating Realistic Ambitions:

One common reason for failure is due to creating goals that are too ambitious. For example, being able to run a marathon is an excellent goal to set, but if you struggle to complete a mile then your goal will be unrealistic. Make sure to follow your ambitions, but make your goals attainable. Maybe you will not be able to run a marathon right away, but you could gain enough endurance and strength in a reasonable amount of time to complete a 5k.

Sometimes those ambitious goals might be what you really want to achieve. Though the goal might not be realistic right now, it may be attainable in a year.

Setting Multiple Mini Goals:

The second way to obtain your personal aspirations is by making multiple mini goals. Before deciding to compete in a marathon you should create multiple mini goals and run a 5k, 10k, and half marathon. Many little successes before the final marathon race will allow for self validation and celebration for reaching your first milestone goal. Training for 6 months for a marathon is difficult to stick to, but having a goal that won’t take as much time to obtain will make the process easier. This will make your final goal less daunting and more achievable.

Now that we have looked at how to create a proper set of main and mini goals, let us discuss how to stick to them. Here are a few tips and tricks on how to continue reaching for your fall ambitions and goals once you create them!

How To Stick To Your Goals This Fall:

  1. Make sure you are passionate about your goal

Make sure you are creating your goals based on your own desires, not someone else’s. If you feel indifferent about completing a task, it will more than likely not be achieved. Work towards a goal that brings you happiness, you will become more determined to complete it.

  1. Be a part of an accountability group

It is difficult to take on any task alone, especially an ambitious aspiration. Try to find other people who have a similar goal as you and report back to each other on a weekly basis. Participants should be discussing your successes throughout the week as well as any possible setbacks that you have experienced. The more accountability the better!

  1. Have fun with it!

If you are not having fun, you are more likely to not complete the goals you set for yourself. Make sure you are enjoying yourself as you complete different tasks. Remember, goal setting is a time for mental growth and self improvement. Don’t make your goals for anyone else except you!
