Kay Loughrey – Licensed Nutritionist Serving MD, DC, VA

My mission is to help people who carry extra weight, know they need help, and are determined to make the changes needed. They wish to have a fulfilling life at a healthy weight and look in the mirror and love who they see, but they struggle with unhealthy habits, an unhealthy relationship with food and general health and mobility problems.

I can help because I am a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist and Healthy Eating Coach. And I can relate because I experienced abuse as a child. At 8 years old, I created a devotedly unhealthy relationship with food and used food to hide my shame. I overate for years, yoyo dieted for decades, and looked in the mirror and didn’t like who I saw. After getting help, I built a healthy relationship with food. I no longer overeat or yoyo diet, and I look in the mirror and love who I see.  Healthy eating became a catalyst for living the life I always wanted to live.

Now I help others live in their sweet spot by building a healthy relationship with food and healing the food-shame connection so they can live a fulfilling life. This is a life that includes having a healthy mind and healthy body at the weight they want to be and being able to look in the mirror and love who they see. After 27 years of public service, I started a private practice 10 years ago and have helped hundreds of people lose weight and stop using food as a substitute for living the life they want to live.
